Principal's Message

As Principal of Jane Stenson, I feel incredibly fortunate to lead a school community centered on student learning, strong relationships, and a shared commitment to helping every child thrive. I believe every child deserves access to high-quality learning in a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where they feel known, valued, and supported. I strive to create a school culture where academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and a strong sense of belonging go hand in hand. I also believe deeply in collaborative leadership and value the voices, ideas, and perspectives of our students, staff, and families as we work together to continually grow and strengthen our school.

With over 20 years in education, I have had the privilege of serving as a classroom teacher, school administrator, and school leadership coach. Each of these experiences has shaped my belief in the power of great teaching, meaningful relationships, and a strong school community. Throughout my career, I have led initiatives focused on strengthening instructional practices, improving student outcomes, and building collaborative professional learning communities. At Jane Stenson, I am especially proud of the growth we have seen in both student learning and family engagement. These accomplishments are truly a reflection of the dedication, partnership, and shared commitment of our entire school community.

I hold a Doctorate in Urban Education Leadership from the University of Illinois Chicago and value the strong connections between our school and the greater community. Through partnerships with the Jane Stenson PTA, Niles Township ELL Parent Center, Skokie Police Department, and Skokie Public Library, we are able to create even more opportunities and support for our students and families. I believe schools are so much more than places of learning—they are places of connection, belonging, hope, and opportunity. It is a privilege to help create a school where every child feels seen, supported, celebrated, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and children and traveling together to explore new places and create new memories.
